The Grand Mosque in Makkah <br />Masjid Al-Haram is established on 388,375 square meter of area. Mutaaf’s Area <br />(circumambulation area around the Holy Kaaba) is comprised on 17,540 square <br />meters. The cleaning process of such a grand mosque is completed in only less <br />than an hour. Maher Al-Zahrani, manager of the Department of Cleaning and <br />Furnishing at the Grand Mosque, said that it takes only 55 minutes to clean the <br />Masjid Al-Haram. The workers perform their washing and cleaning duties while <br />pilgrims are performing their tawaf (circumambulation) and sa'i (stepping up <br />seven times between Safa and Marwa hills).
